Faculty Spotlight — Dr. Margaret P. Karns

Margaret P. KarnsMargaret P. Karns teaches political science at the University of Dayton in Ohio. Dr. Karns is the former director of the university's International Studies Program and the founding director of the Center for International Programs from 1983 to 1995. She specializes in U.S. foreign policy and multilateral institutions.

This semester, she will teach "Diplomacy and Peacemaking," a specialized course focusing on diplomacy, negotiation and mediation as techniques for ending armed conflicts. Click here to view Dr. Karns's syllabus.
