A useful condensed report of extensive research conducted at Chatham House leaves a Japanese economist with some well-justified concerns about how post-1992 Europe will conduct its trade with Japan. He sees the other side of the picture as well, but has no strikingly new suggestions for dealing with the troublesome issues.
